Reflection:
There is a good job outlook for a forensic DNA analyst. Between 2010-2020 there is going to be a 19% growth rate. There are currently around 13,000 job openings and is going to increase to around 2,400 within the next decade. In PLTW Biomedical Science we learned what the structure of DNA is made out of. Some skills we learned were building a structure of DNA, DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and comparing different DNA structures.

There are excellent opportunities for those who want to become a hematologist. Recently, there have been more patients who need to have the work of a hematologist. There is also many different variations that one can practice their job which increases the openings. In PLTW's Biomedical Science class, there were skills learned that is needed for a hematologist. We learned how to find deficiencies in blood samples (like sickle cell anemia), how to find one's hematocrit, and recognize base pair mutations that affect one's blood. We also learned how to treat sickle cell anemia.
